Job Summary

Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training Instructor plays a crucial role in developing the technical and safety competencies of the underground workforce. This position ensures personnel receive high-quality training aligned with statutory requirements and company standards. The instructor combines theoretical presentations with practical demonstrations to prepare workers for the demands of underground mechanized mining.

Key Responsibilities

The instructor delivers training on equipment operation, hazard identification, safe work procedures, emergency response, and job-specific technical skills. Responsibilities include conducting competency assessments, maintaining accurate training records, evaluating learner progression, and providing refresher courses where needed. The role requires adapting training content for different skill levels, coordinating with supervisors to identify skill gaps, and supporting onboarding programs for new hires.

Qualifications & Experience

A recognized trade certificate or technical qualification relating is required, with at least three to five years of underground mining experience. Formal training or assessment credentials are required. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication abilities, practical undeground mining experience, and a structured approach to instructional delivery. Previous experience in operating underground mining equipment is required.
