Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, the Sectional Surveyor is responsible for the precise, daily physical measurement and mapping of the underground excavations.

Key Responsibilities

The surveyor's critical duties include installing accurate laser lines and grade pegs in advancing development ends and active stopes to guide the drilling crews. The incumbent will issue vital holing instructions to prevent unintended intersections, process complex raw survey data to generate accurate 3D models, and perform the necessary volumetric reconciliations required for contractor payment and production reporting. Providing timeous survey notes to the development teams in a high-pressure, dynamic project environment.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate must hold a Degree or Diploma or Equivalent in Mine Surveying and demonstrate a minimum of three years of dedicated underground surveying experience. Advanced mathematical capabilities, superior CAD skills, and the ability to operate complex total stations and scanning equipment in harsh environments are strictly required. Previous underground high-speed development mining experience is required.
