Job Summary

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the Construction Quality Controller provides comprehensive QA/QC oversight across all underground engineering civil and structural works. This role protects the integrity of critical mine infrastructure—such as pump stations, electrical installations, and water‑handling systems—by ensuring every phase meets engineering design parameters, geotechnical requirements, and statutory standards. The position is essential for preventing costly rework, improving construction reliability, and guaranteeing long‑term safety and durability.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Controller performs detailed inspections of formwork, rebar installations, concrete placements, structural steel assemblies, eletrical installations. Responsibilities include verifying material certifications, monitoring curing processes, validating construction tolerances, and documenting every stage of built works in digital QA checklists. The role also tracks non‑conformances, issues corrective action requests, and collaborates closely with engineering and mining teams to resolve structural issues. A critical component is auditing underground work areas to ensure compliance with the MQWM Act and internal construction procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

A Mechanical or Eletrical Trade Certficate, Quality Management related Qualification, or related discipline is required, with at least 8 years of QA/QC experience in underground mining or heavy civil environments. Strong technical reporting skills, familiarity with underground construction challenges, and an unwavering commitment to structural integrity are essential.
