Job Summary

Operating under the SHEQ Manager, the Ventilation Officer is legally and operationally responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous monitoring of life-critical underground ventilation networks.

Key Responsibilities

The role demands the routine and emergency execution of air quantity and quality measurements, alongside stringent gas monitoring protocols to eliminate atmospheric hazards and diesel particulate matter.

Qualifications & Experience

The incumbent will utilize advanced software to develop dynamic ventilation simulation models, ensuring that primary and auxiliary airflow meets the shifting demands of a mechanized heavy equipment fleet. Ensuring strict compliance with all occupational hygiene standards and the MQWM Act's environmental control provisions is a primary directive. The candidate must hold a formal Certificate in Mine Environmental Control or an equivalent recognized Occupational Hygiene qualification. A minimum of five years of practical experience in trackless underground mechanized mining ventilation is required, along with advanced operational proficiency in thermodynamic modeling software such as Ventsim or Vuma.
