Job Summary
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Logistics / Procurement Manager is responsible for the complete supply‑chain lifecycle supporting the underground mining project. This senior commercial role oversees procurement, inbound logistics, warehousing, international shipments, vendor management, and inventory planning. The role ensures that critical equipment, explosives, spares, and consumables reach the operation on time, in specification, and in a cost‑effective manner. Given the high production tempo of this mechanized underground mining project, supply chain reliability is fundamental to preventing downtime and controlling project expenditure.
Key Responsibilities
Key duties include leading procurement negotiations, managing supplier performance, conducting commercial evaluations of quotations, and issuing high‑value purchase orders. The manager oversees international freight movement, customs documentation, and transport coordination to remote sites. Additional tasks include optimizing inventory levels, preventing stock‑outs of critical parts, conducting regular ERP data audits, forecasting budget needs, and implementing cost‑reduction strategies. The role also provides commercial oversight for contracts, monitors logistics KPIs, and ensures compliance with corporate governance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration is required, with professional CIPS membership highly preferred. At least ten years of commercial experience, including five in mining or heavy industry, is essential. Strong ERP proficiency, strategic sourcing capability, and advanced negotiation skills are required.
