Job Summary

Reporting to the Bolter Operator, the Long Hole / Cable Bolter Assistant provides the physical support required to sustain continuous ground‑support drilling and installation activities. This role requires strength, stamina, and the ability to work in highly confined, wet, and geotechnically sensitive areas. The Assistant ensures that the operator has a constant supply of grout and other consumables needed to maintain safe ground conditions in development and production areas.

Key Responsibilities

Daily duties include manually loading consumables into machine carousels, preparing grouting materials, and transporting accessories to the working face. The assistant also erects safety barricades, clears debris from drilling zones, helps position drilling booms, and assists during machine setup and breakdown. Continuous housekeeping, hazard identification, and communication with the operator are essential for preventing accidents and ensuring smooth bolting cycles.

Qualifications & Experience

A BGCSE or equivalent qualification is required. Physical strength, excellent safety awareness, and prior underground or heavy‑labor experience are advantageous. Previous underground mining experience is required.
