Job Summary

Reporting to the Sectional Surveyor, the Surveyor Assistant provides the essential physical labor and logistical support required to execute accurate underground measurements.

Key Responsibilities

The assistant is responsible for the safe transport, meticulous setup, and routine maintenance of highly sensitive, expensive surveying equipment within the rugged underground environment. The incumbent will actively handle survey pegs, measuring tapes, and data cables, and provide direct support to the Surveyor during complex laser scanning operations and cavity monitoring surveys.

Qualifications & Experience

The applicant must possess a BGCSE or an equivalent educational qualification, combined with one to three years of practical experience working in an underground mining or heavy civil environment. The role demands a high level of physical fitness, an understanding of spatial relationships, and a strong commitment to underground safety protocols.
