Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Mine Manager, the SHEQ Manager is responsible for the strategic development, rigorous implementation, and continuous auditing of comprehensive Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality policies across the entire operation.

Key Responsibilities

The primary mandate is to ensure the mine's absolute, unwavering compliance with Botswana's stringent MQWM safety standards and all associated environmental legislation. The incumbent will lead complex, site-wide risk assessments, direct high-level incident investigations utilizing root-cause analysis methodologies, and relentlessly promote a project-wide zero-harm safety culture.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate must hold an advanced Degree or Diploma in Safety Management or Equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in underground mining SHE management is required, showcasing advanced leadership capabilities and the operational management skills necessary to enforce compliance across diverse contracting teams.

This role operates within a large-scale underground development project in Botswana, where our contracting teams manage high-speed drilling, blasting, and continuous mechanized advance. The position forms part of a multidiscipline workforce responsible for maintaining safe, legally compliant production cycles while coordinating equipment, personnel, and logistical resources across an extensive underground layout.
