Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Engineer, the Construction Superintendent leads all underground civil, electrical, mechanical and structural construction activities critical to mine development. This senior role requires advanced technical knowledge of underground civil, mechanical, electrical and structural works, multi‑disciplinary coordination, and the ability to deliver capital infrastructure safely under demanding geological and logistical conditions. The Superintendent ensures construction quality, statutory compliance, and alignment with the mine's development schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Key duties include overseeing medium‑voltage electrical construction, coordinating large‑scale concrete and steel structures, mechanical water handling infrastructure and ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications. The Superintendent monitors crew performance, allocates plant and resources, resolves design clashes, and mitigates construction risks. The role also involves controlling budgets, scheduling work in coordination with production, engineering, and survey departments, and driving continuous improvement across all construction teams.

Qualifications & Experience

A Electrical or Trade Certificate and Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required, with a minimum of ten years of underground mining construction leadership experience. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical judgement, proven management capabilities, and a track record of safely delivering complex underground mining infrastructure.
