The primary responsibility is to physically smash oversized boulders that threaten to choke the ore passes, ensuring a continuous, smooth flow of fragmented material to the underground crushers and hoisting skips. The operator must exercise extreme caution to prevent structural damage to the grizzly steelwork while maintaining high throughput. The incumbent is also responsible for conducting routine lubrication, executing minor hydraulic maintenance, and identifying excessive wear on the breaker hammer.

Acute spatial awareness, excellent depth perception, and a relentless attention to detail in a highly repetitive task are mandatory for success.
