Job Summary

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the Safety Officer provides critical, on-the-ground enforcement of the mine's safety policies. The officer is tasked with conducting rigorous, daily underground safety inspections and physical audits of all active working headings and workshops.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include monitoring workforce compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards, enforcing operational safety regulations, leading daily safety toolbox talks, and assisting management in detailed root-cause analysis during mandatory incident reporting procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate must possess a formal Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent Qualification. A minimum of five years of practical experience in underground mining or heavy construction safety is required, alongside an advanced, practical knowledge of underground hazard identification and ground control safety protocols.
