Job Summary
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Mining Quality Controller serves as the ultimate auditor of the extraction cycle, providing critical QA/QC specifically for drill and blast execution. The controller performs systematic underground inspections to verify that jumbo and long-hole drilling accuracy strictly aligns with engineered spatial plans and geological markups.
Key Responsibilities
A major responsibility is monitoring explosive loading procedures, stemming practices, and initiation sequences to ensure the explosive energy is distributed safely and correctly.
Qualifications & Experience
By executing these controls, the incumbent actively minimizes ore dilution, maximizes tunnel advance rates, prevents damaging overbreak, and optimizes muckpile fragmentation for downstream crushing and hoisting. The successful applicant must hold a Valid Blasting License and supervisory qualification. At least 12 years+ experience in high-speed development, of which three years has been at Shiftboss level and a minimum of two years of specialized experience focusing heavily on drill and blast quality control.
