Job Summary

Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, the Shiftboss holds a critical statutory supervisory role responsible for the direct planning, control, and safe execution of all production activities during a designated shift.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent is legally required to conduct rigorous workplace risk assessments, actively enforce standard operating procedures across all crews, and manage the meticulous completion of the Shiftboss logbook detailing all statutory inspections and instructions. The Shiftboss will lead high-speed development activities during the shift. Coordination of drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and support actvities will be required in a high-pressure environment while ensuring safety and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate must possess a valid, recognized Blasting License and Shiftboss Certificate of Competency, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the MQWM Act. A minimum of 8 years of direct supervisory experience in an underground high-speed mechanized development mining environment is mandatory, showcasing strong interpersonal skills and an unyielding commitment to underground safety protocols.
